GallowLily’s gallery features monthly solo exhibitions of contemporary craft artists while our boutique consigns an eclectic array of eco-friendly and handmade goods; including hand printed and recycled clothing, one of a kind jewelry, ceramics, organic products, artists prints, independent books and much more.
Named after Lily Madison, a woman whose murder, in 1885, led to the hanging of a local attorney who was jailed on the premises awaiting execution for a crime he may not have committed. A screenplay is now being completed based on the autobiography he wrote while incarcerated on site. This unique craft boutique and gallery has been a notable part of Richmond’s history and still houses the original gallows.
